Zoe Gillings 'over the moon' with World Cup podium
British number one Zoe Gillings said she is "over the moon" to reach the podium at the final round of the boarder-cross World Cup in Valmalenco.
The Isle of Man snowboarder finished her World Cup campaign with her best result of the season after finishing third in Friday's final.
The 26-year-old said: "I am absolutely over the moon and I have done it all without a funding programme."
Gillings reached the final in five of the seven World Cup competitions.
The final round was won by American Jacqueline Hernandez ahead of France's Nelly Moenne Loccoz, who improved on her third place from earlier in the week.
Gillings continued: "It's been my best season ever and I am so happy at the moment. It's an unbelievable feeling to be back on the World Cup podium and I have to thank all the Manx people for getting behind me and my business."
Her third place finish sees her leapfrog France's Deborah Anthonioz to finish sixth in the overall World Cup standings.
Dominique Maltais claimed the overall title, finishing 250 points ahead of fellow Canadian Maelle Ricker.
Bulgarian Alexandra Jekova finished third with Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Lindsey Jacobellis completing the top five.
