Great Britain's Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland have withdrawn from the World Figure Skating Championships in China later this month because of illness.
Coomes was hospitalised after falling ill during training in America this week and is to return to the UK.
"Obviously this news has come as a huge blow," National Ice Skating Association chief executive Nick Sellwood said.
Coomes and Buckland, who are both 25, were European ice dance bronze medallists in 2014.
"Penny's health is our main concern and priority right now. We would like to wish her a very speedy recovery," Sellwood added.
Coomes and Buckland also had to withdraw from the European Championships in Stockholm earlier this year after Buckland contracted gastroenteritis.
The World Figure Skating Championships run from 25 to 28 March in Shanghai.
