Spanish KS2: Meeting a Spanish family

A British girl, Ashleigh, talks to her Spanish friend Cristina via a tablet.

They talk about the festival of Reyes (kings) and compare the traditions with English Christmas traditions.

Cristina introduces her family to Ashleigh, who greets them in Spanish.

Teacher Notes

Pupils could compare Christmas and Reyes, discussing the differences of how and when they are celebrated.

They could also draw their families and then introduce them using the phrase “este es mi….” (this is my…), or in small groups, they could take on family roles and introduce each other using “te presento…” (I introduce you to…)

Curriculum Notes

This clip is suitable for teaching Key Stage 2, Level 2, or beginners in Spanish of any age.
